About the role

Using your retail and supervisory experience to help all creatures’ great and small by coordinating the volunteers and daily operations of the op shop while focusing on generating a valuable income for the RSPCA Qld. RSPCA Op Shops make a real difference, with all proceeds going straight back to helping animals in need. We are expanding our op shop network and looking for additional team members to contribute to the ongoing success of the program.

  • Represent the RSPCA Qld Op Shop team and brand through your passion for all things preloved and second-hand and encourage the same within your team to create a positive supportive store atmosphere.
  • Work closely with the Op Shop Business Manager, to support the goals and mission of the RSPCA Qld.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service.
  • Train and support volunteers.
  • Drive sales to achieve set targets.
  • Oversee and review all goods for sale in the store.
  • Direct and monitor the daily register opening & closing procedures.
  • Maintain and periodically review the shop’s pricing list.


Who are we looking for?

  • Confident in retail and must have demonstrated leadership experience in a retail environment (minimum of 2 years in a similar role).
  • Knowledge of fashion and clothing brands.
  • Proven visual/merchandising skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • High level of organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Sound computer skills.
  • Proven ability to work well under pressure.
  • Ability to supervise & provide direction to a small team.


This is a part-time, permanent position, working 10 hours per week, including regular weekend shifts. Remuneration is as per the General Retail Industry Award at $28.28 per hour + superannuation and penalty rates.
